Complete 30 hours of pre-licensing education
You must complete the 30-hour Principle of Real Estate Course. Learn more about our courses here.

Complete the course final exam
After you finish the course, you will need to take an online proctored exam and pass with a minimum score of 90%.

Submit the background check requirement
You must submit your fingerprints to the Kansas Real Estate Commission for a criminal background check. For more information click here.

Pass the Kansas Real Estate Exam
Pearson administers the in-person state licensing exam. There are 120 questions with two portions. 80 national questions and 40 state-specific questions will be on the exam. You will need a 70% or higher to pass this exam. Upon completion of this exam, you will get an application photo taken at the testing center.

Complete your 30-hour Practice Course
You must take a 30-hour Kansas Practice Course within6 months of taking the state exam. The course certificate is valid for 6 months.

Submit your license application
To apply for your Kansas real estate license, contact the Kansas Real Estate Commission and complete your application online. They will list the documents you will need to provide. You will obtain errors and omissions insurance at this point in the process.
