HOW TO GET Your Alabama Real Estate License
Enroll in our Alabama Pre-License Course & satisfy all of the educational requirements to obtain an Alabama real estate license. You must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and complete the steps below:

Complete 60 hours of pre-licensing education

Complete the course final exam
After you finish the course, you will need to pre-register with the Alabama Real Estate Commission to receive your ID number. After that, you will take an online proctored exam. To pass the exam, students must earn at least a 70%.

Pass the Alabama Real Estate Commission’s exam with a 70% or higher
PSI administers the in-person state licensing exam. The exam is split into two different portions: a state portion and a national portion. The state portion consists of 40 multiple choice questions. The national portion consists of 100 multiple choice questions. You will have 3 ½ hours to complete the exam and earn a 70% or higher.

Obtain a fingerprint-based background check
Applicants must submit a fingerprint-based federal and state criminal background check through the AREC’s processing company.

Submit an application for an Alabama Salesperson License
To apply for your Alabama real estate license, you must submit your application to the Alabama Real Estate Commission.
