How To Get Your Michigan Real Estate License

Enroll in our online Michigan real estate license course & satisfy all of the educational requirements to obtain a Michigan real estate license. You must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and complete the steps below:

Complete 40 hours of pre-licensing education

You must complete the 40-hour approved Pre-Licensing Course. Not sure which course is right for you? Compare course packages.

Complete the course final exam

After you finish the course, you will need to take an online exam and pass with a minimum score of 75%.

File your license application

This application must be filled out online and submitted to the Michigan LARA for approval. This application must be completed before taking the licensing exam and submitted along with the license fee. Visit Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs for more information.

Pass the Michigan Real Estate Licensing Exam

PSI Administers the in-person state licensing exam. You will need a 75% or higher to pass this exam. There are 115 questions based on the content outline. You will have 4 hours to complete the exam.

There is no Post-License Requirements for Michigan. You must complete 18 hours of continuing education every three year renewal cycle.
