How To Get Your Alabama Real Estate License

Enroll in our Alabama Pre-license Course & satisfy all of the educational requirements to obtain an Alabama real estate license. You must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and complete the steps below:

Complete 60 hours of pre-licensing education

Perry Real Estate College offers the Alabama Real Estate License Course completely online and at your own pace. Not sure which course is right for you? Compare course packages.

Complete the course final exam

After you finish the course, you will need to pre-register with the Alabama Real Estate Commission to receive your ID number. Then you take an online proctored exam. A minimum score of 70 percent is required.

Pass the Alabama Real Estate Commission's exam with a 70 percent or higher

PSI administers the in-person state licensing exam. The exam is split into two different portions: a state portion and a national portion. The state portion consists of 40 multiple choice questions. The national portion consists of 100 multiple choice questions. You will have 3 ½ hours to complete the exam and earn a 70% or higher.

Obtain a fingerprint-based background check

Applicants must submit a fingerprint-based federal and state criminal background check through the AREC’s processing company.

Submit an application for an Alabama Salesperson License

To apply for your license, you must submit your application to the Alabama Real Estate Commission. Read state requirements.
