how to Get a Washington DC real estate license
Enroll in our Washington DC Pre-License Course & satisfy all of the educational requirements to obtain a DC real estate license. You must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and complete the steps below:

Complete 60 hours of pre-licensing education

Complete the course final exam
After you finish the course, you will need to take an online exam and pass with a minimum score of 75%.

Pass the Washington, D.C. Real Estate Licensing Exam
PSI Administers the in-person state licensing exam. There are 110 questions, covering the national and state-specific content. You will need 75% or higher to pass this exam.

Submit fingerprints for a background check
You must submit your fingerprints to the FBI for a criminal background check.

Complete the application form
This application must be filled out and submitted to the
DC Real Estate Commission for approval. Complete the licensing process by submitting your licensing exam results to DCREC along with the license fee.
