Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the Oklahoma real estate post-licensing requirement?

In Oklahoma, your initial real estate license is a Provisional Sales Associate (PSA) license. To remove the "provisional" status and upgrade to a standard sales associate license, you must complete a mandatory 45-hour post-licensing course.

  • What is a Provisional Sales Associate (PSA)?

A Provisional Sales Associate is a new licensee who has completed the pre-licensing education and passed the state exam. Your PSA license is valid for one year. The 45-hour post-licensing course must be completed before the end of this one-year period.

  • What is the deadline to complete my 45-hour course?

You must complete your 45-hour post-licensing course before the one-year expiration date of your Provisional Sales Associate (PSA) license. The course cannot be taken before your PSA license has been issued.

  • What happens if I don't complete the course by the deadline?

If you fail to complete your 45-hour post-licensing course before your PSA license expires, you will not be eligible to renew it. Your license will become void, and you will be required to start over as an original applicant. This means you would need to retake the pre-licensing courses and pass the state exam again.

  • What topics are covered in the 45-hour post-license course?

The OREC-approved curriculum is designed to give you practical, real-world skills to start your career. Our course covers essential topics such as:

    • Real Estate Business Basics
    • Financial Documents
    • Risk Management and Disclosures
    • Real Estate Investment and Management
    • Fair Housing and Professional Conduct
  • Can I complete my Oklahoma post-licensing education online?

Yes. Our 45-hour Oklahoma post-licensing course is 100% online and self-paced. This flexibility allows you to study and complete the hours on your own schedule, from any location with an internet connection, ensuring you meet your deadline.

  • How is my completion reported to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission (OREC)?

Upon your successful completion of the course, we will electronically report your hours to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission (OREC). This process is handled for you, so you can focus on your new career. You should always keep a copy of your course completion certificate for your records.

  • Do I have to take an exam at the end?

Yes, you are required to pass a final exam for the 45-hour post-licensing course with a minimum score of 80%. You can typically take the exam multiple times until you pass.
