How To Get Your South Carolina Real Estate License
Enroll in our South Carolina Pre-License Package and satisfy all of the educational requirements to obtain a real estate license. As a prerequisite, you must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and complete the steps below:
Complete 90 hours of pre-licensing education
You must complete a total of two courses in South Carolina. The first course is the 60-hour Unit I Salesperson Pre-Licensing course and the second is the 30-hour Unit II Advanced Real Estate Principles course. Complete the course final exam
After you finish the course, you will need to take an online exam and pass with a minimum score of 70%. This course final will need to be proctored online.
Complete the exam application
This application must be filled out and submitted to the South Carolina Real Estate Commission for approval.
Submit the background check requirement
You must submit your fingerprints to State Law Enforcement Division and the FBI for a criminal background check.
Pass the South Carolina Real Estate Exam
PSI Administers the in-person state licensing exam. There are 110 questions with two portions. 80 national questions and 30 state-specific questions will be on the exam. Choose a sponsoring brokerage
You must be associated with brokerage registered in South Carolina to obtain a real estate license. Read on our blog here to find out how to pick the right brokerage for you.
File your license application
To apply for your South Carolina real estate license, contact the Labor & Licensing Regulation and complete your application online. You will obtain errors and omissions insurance at this point in the process.
