HOW TO GET A Kansas real estate LICENSE
Enroll in our Kansas Pre-License course to satisfy all of the requirements to obtain a Kansas real estate license. You must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and complete the steps below:

Submit your license application and background check
To apply for your Kansas real estate license, contact the Kansas Real Estate Commission and complete your application online. You will need to obtain a pre-license number prior to registering for the course. You must also submit your fingerprints to the Kansas Real Estate Commission for a criminal background check. Review the Salesperson Pre-Licensing Checklist before getting started.

Complete 30 hours of pre-licensing education
You must complete the 30-hour Principle of Real Estate Course.

Complete the course final exam
After you finish the course, you will need to take an online exam and pass with a minimum score of 90%.

Complete your 30-hour Practice Course
You must take a 30-hour Kansas Practice Course within6 months of taking the state exam. The course certificate is valid for 6 months.

Pass the Kansas Real Estate Exam
Pearson administers the in-person state licensing exam. There are 120 questions with two portions. 80 national questions and 40 state-specific questions will be on the exam. You will need a 70% or higher to pass this exam. Upon completion of this exam, you will get an application photo taken at the testing center.
