Requirements: You must be 21 years or older have at least 3 years' experience as a salesman within the last 5 years. If you have a bachelor’s degree with a major in real estate, you do not have to take Real Estate Broker Courses.

Complete the 150-hour required real estate education
This includes the 90-hour South Carolina Sales License Pre-Licensing course plus an additional two Broker courses. These additional courses are called South Carolina Brokerage Management Unit III-A 30-Hour Course and South Carolina Exam Prep Unit III-B 30-Hour Course. Complete the course final exam
After you finish the course, you will need to take an online proctored exam and pass with a minimum score of 80%.

Complete the broker exam application
This application must be filled out and submitted to the South Carolina Real Estate Commission for approval. This process can take up to 4 weeks. Click here for more information.

Submit the background check requirement
You must submit your fingerprints to State Law Enforcement Division and the FBI for a criminal background check. For more information click

Pass the South Carolina Real Estate Broker Exam
You will have 60 days after you pass your exam to send in your application either in the mail or online. Click here for more information.

Complete an online application with the South Carolina Real Estate Commission
Once you pass your exam you will send in your application online. Click here for more information. You will have to pay a new license fee at this time, view the SCREC website for updated fee amounts.
