Complete 60 hours of pre-licensing education

Complete the course final exam
After you finish the course, you will need to pre-register with the Alabama Real Estate Commission to receive your ID number. After that, you will take an online proctored exam. To pass the exam, students must earn at least a 70%.

Pass the Alabama Real Estate Commission’s exam with a 70% or higher
PSI administers the in-person state licensing exam. The exam is split into two different portions: a state portion and a national portion. The state portion consists of 40 multiple choice questions. The national portion consists of 100 multiple choice questions. You will have 3 ½ hours to complete the exam and earn a 70% or higher.

Obtain a fingerprint-based background check
Applicants must submit to a fingerprint-based federal and state criminal background check through the AREC’s processing company, Gemalto.

Submit an application for an Alabama Salesperson License
