Complete 72 hours of pre-licensing education
You must complete the 72-hour approved Pre-Licensing Course. Our course is completely online and works at your own pace. PREC offers this course at a discounted rate that is completely online and completed at your own pace. Learn more about our courses here.

Complete the course final exam
After you finish the course, you will need to take an online proctored exam and pass with a minimum score of 75%.

Pass the Wisconsin Real Estate Licensing Exam
PearsonVue administers the in-person state licensing exam. There are 140 questions based on the content outline here. You will have 4 hours to complete the exam.

Complete a background check
After you finish the examination, you will be required to answer a background check with your licensing application. You will then be given instructions on applying to the Board online.

Submit your license application
This application must be filled out and submitted to the Wisconsin Real Estate Examining Board for approval. Complete the licensing process by submitting your licensing exam results to the Board along with the license fee of $60.00.
