How to Become a Real Estate Agent in Ohio
You must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and complete the steps below:

Complete 100 hours of pre-licensing education
You must complete 100 hours of education. Not sure which course is right for you? Ohio Enrollment Agreements and School Catalog.

Complete the course final exam
After you finish the course, you will need to take an online exam and pass with a minimum score of 75%.

Choose a sponsoring brokerage
You must be associated with a brokerage registered in Ohio to obtain a real estate license. Read on our blog here to find out how to pick the right brokerage for you.

File your license application
To apply for your Ohio real estate license, contact the Ohio Real Estate Commission. They will list the documents you need to provide. You will obtain errors and omissions insurance at this point in the process.

Pass the Ohio Real Estate Exam
The 120-question test is divided into two sections, each covering both state and national standards. You will have 180 minutes to complete the exam, 120 minutes to complete the federal portion’s 80 questions, and 60 minutes to complete the state portion’s 40 questions.
