Yes. For your first renewal(you must renewal every two years)as a sales agent, you must have completed 270 hours of real estate education. An additional 90 hours of education as they count your pre-license eduation as a part of the 270 hours.

You must be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, have at least 40 experience points, and have been licensed as a salesperson for 2 years.
- Complete 270 hours of qualifying pre-license education courses.Â
- Complete the proctored course final exams.
- Complete 630 hours of other commission-approved education.Â
- Submit your license application.
- Complete a fingerprint background check.
- Pass the Texas Real Estate Broker licensing exam.
