Get A Real Estate License In Kansas
Basic Requirements
- You must be 18 years or older
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Step 1: Complete 30 hours of pre-licensing education
- You must complete the 20-hour Principles of Real Estate Course. Click here to learn more about this course.
Step 2: Complete the final exam
- After you finish the course, you will need to take an online exam and pass with a minimum of 90%.
Step 3: Submit the background check requirement
- You must submit your fingerprints to the Kansas State Police or FBI for a criminal background check.
Step 4: Pass the Kansas Real Estate Exam
- Pearson Administers the in-person licensing exam. There are 120 questions with two sections. The first part of the exam in the national portion and the second part is the state specific portion. You will need a minimum score of 70% to pass this exam.
Step 5: Complete your 30-hour Practice Course
- You have 6 months after you take your state exam to pass the 30-hour Kansas Practice Course.
Step 6: File your license application
- To Apply for your Kansas real estate license, contact the Kansas Real Estate Commission and complete your application online. You must have a Broker affiliate within 6 months of passing the state exam.
